ENCLOSURE - How can Ca’ Tron be a civic center up-to-date with the multitude of changes involved in our changing world?
The aim of project is to give a new identity, new life to a gorgeous building along Canal Grande, starting from existing configuration.
Clearly the ambiguity of having the main entrance closed, and using a secondary access on the side of the building has not gone unnoticed, taking away the chance to pass through the internal garden, a rarity to find on the island. So the first strong designing idea was to bring back to use the old gate, and reconfigure in this way the central court for what it is - a connector and aggregator for people and life, beside the building.
Shifting the position of the main access, gave not only to Cà Tron but to the whole area, a new linear system from its internal court - that became the central pivot of the site - to the Canal Grande.
Just bringing back things as they were: the building was design to work this way, with this linear connection from Canal Grande to inner court.
